Watch This University Marching Band Add Some Extra Oompah To Adele’s ‘Hello’

It’s hard to distract Adele these days. As she saunters down the path of global pop domination, breaking all the records and gearing up for a 2016 tour that’s bound to do the same, she probably hasn’t noticed everyone, everywhere covering her songs.

Of course, imitation is the highest form of flattery and certainly not an opportunist’s quick route to an easy headline. Britney Spears knew this when she danced around her living room to ‘Hello.’ So did SBTRKT when he dug up his old ‘Chasing Pavements’ remix the same week Adele released ’25.’

But the Southern University Marching Band had another agenda entirely. Faced with their annual Battle of the Bands competition against Grambling State University, they whipped out a booming brass fuelled cover of ‘Hello’ during halftime at Louisiana’s Bayou Classic football game last week (November 27).

The dramatic rework has it all, from a Mexican wave consisting entirely of trumpet players to a bizarre, slow-mo dance routine courtesy of the silver suited Dancing Dolls. Watch the cover below:
