Björk’s 2011 album ‘Biophilia’ and its attendant app represented an attempt to explore the intersection where music, nature and technology meet, and she later took it on the road with a multimedia show of strange musical instruments, a 24-piece Icelandic female choir and a series of nature films.
The project continues, and Björk has now met up with legendary TV naturalist Sir David Attenborough for a chat about ‘Biophilia”s themes and the role of sound in nature. The full meeting is broadcast on Saturday (27 July) on Channel 4, but you can watch the trailer below.
It’s an intriguing connection – a pop star (however avant-garde) and a grand old master of British TV. Who else would you want to see in a similar meeting of minds?
