AC/DC arrive at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium on Thursday (June 9). As has been the case all of their recent tour dates, they’re fronted by Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose, after the band’s former vocalist Brian Johnson had to be replaced, since he was suffering from hearing problems. Fans were unsure about the replacement, but the historic set of dates have still caused a stir, most recently at the Olympic Park, where they played a 130-minute set. But the question on many fans’ lips is who the support act is. Here’s what we know.
Who’s supporting AC/DC?
They’re called Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown. This Nashville band, who have been playing together for seven years, make bluesy rock. The lead singer, Tyler Bryant, is only 25 and with his band he’s already had support slots with Eric Clapton, ZZ Top, Aerosmith and Jeff Beck.
What are they known for?
They released their debut album ‘Wild Child’ in 2013 and have since released another EP. They’re also connected closely to Aerosmith: founding Aerosmith member Brad Whitford, is guitarist Graham Whitford’s father.
What time are they on?
You can get inside the stadium from 5pm and Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown will be on at 7pm.
