Last time I heard Zero 7, it was floating under palm trees in a hotel pool, preceded by a Spanish guitar version of ‘Yesterday’ with added soothing sea gull effects. The time before that was in a deckchair on a pier in Brighton. And therein lies the problem with the public perception of Zero 7: chillout music for unconscious absorption; coffee table Balearic bliss.
They’ve always been a lot more than that, as their recently-leaked-on-Stereogum track revealed. And this HUGE remix from Joker & Ginz takes it to a whole new dimension.
