Are Virgin Kids The UK’s Answer To Black Lips?

Asher Preston started London garage act Virgin Kids in his bedroom, and that scrappiness remains now they’ve entered the studio and been picked up by Burger Records.

The track we’re premiering today, ‘My Alone’ could pass for a Black Lips highpoint, not least in the vocals which uncannily recall Atlanta’s finest. There’s also a healthy smattering of whatever grit drives Twin Peaks to such head-shakingly subversive levels of intensity, alongside the knowing nous of Coathangers more accessible material. Ultimately, it sounds fun because it is fun.

The band release their debut album Greasewheel in March 2016 via Burger Records (US) and Fluffer Records (UK).
