Buzz Band Of The Week this time round are Edinburgh’s Man Of Moon. They’re still a bit of an industry secret right now, but probably not for long. They’ve been playing loads of supposedly “legendary” shows in Scotland for nigh on six months (or so I’m told), but recently made it a bit further south for the first time. Their London debut, playing early at Scala, saw a hefty wedge of festival promoters, A&R and eagle-eyed new music fanatics in attendance, and pretty much backed up the bluster.
Debut 7-inch ‘The Road’/’This World’ is out on July 17 through Melodic Records, with the ‘The Road’ premiered below. It’s a statement of intent, building in a similar way to some of Jagwar Ma’s best stuff, yet (judging by this track at least) they’re a much more guitar-orientated prospect than the Aussie dance geniuses.
The band play the following live dates:
14th May – Summerhall Arts, Edinburgh (supporting The Phantom Band)
7th June – BBC Introducing at the Quay, Glasgow
10th June – The Art School, Glasgow (supporting Admiral Fallow)
11th June – Xpo North Festival, Inverness
24th July – Wickerman Festival – Solus Tent, Dundrennan
30th July – Voodoo Rooms (Speakeasy), Edinburgh
31st July – Hug & Pint, Glasgow
29th August – Electric Fields Festival, Dumfries
5th September – Joctoberfest, Black Isle Brewery, Inverness

Featured this week in our Buzz playlist, we’ve got Honduras who supported Blur recently in NYC, xx-alikes Lung Dart and Alessia, who’s created one of the songs of the year with the wonderfully acerbic ‘Here’.
