After a buzzy end to 2015, LA-based Dogs return today with a video for ‘Dogs’, taken from their Misty Strub EP, which came out last month. While the song itself is a fine-tuned and slick affair, sounding like MGMT on sleeping pills, the video is more comical.
Here’s singer Max Helmerich on the inspiration:
“I was curious if it were possible to simultaneously be running away from everything while at the same time consider myself loyal. Kind of beats a dead horse, but you know how a dog can at one moment make you feel like you’re the only person on earth and the very next moment not give two shits about you. That’s how I felt I was living, and that’s what the song is about.”
