New Music Of The Day: Fiancé – ‘h.a.g.s’ (NME Premiere)

If you struggle to think of bands from Delaware, Fiancé should be heading up your list in future – the Newark-based five-piece sounds like the city’s hazier answer to New York’s Diiv. They’re hardworking guys too – their self-titled debut only came out in February, but they’re already putting out new material. The first cut they’re showing us is this dreamy, synth-backed new cut, ‘h.a.g.s’, which has arrived just in time for this week’s heatwave.

Their frontman, Andrew Fusca explained their latest track to us as “the first of many singles we will be putting out into the world over the next few months. Eventually we’ll put them all out as some sort of EP or LP.” The band self-released their debut, after which Fusca says he felt “pretty burned out”, so for now the plan is to put singles out as and when they’re created. That’s good news for us – take a listen to ‘h.a.g.s’ below:
