New Music Of The Day: Twin Peaks – ‘Holding Roses’ (Video)

Last time we saw Chicago’s Twin Peaks in April, the garage rock five-piece were playing a handful of UK dates ahead of the release their third album ‘Down In Heaven’. Today they’re releasing the video for one of that album’s highlights, ‘Holding Roses’, which you can see below. If this is your first Twin Peaks experience, it’s a pretty representative one: all psychedelic colours, scruffy fans on their mates’ shoulders, and even a nod to their comparatively reserved recent appearance on Conan O’Brien’s US chat show. If you check them out on their upcoming UK tour dates (details the bottom of this page) you’ll find them letting loose, to put it mildly.

The video was designed by their longtime friend and collaborator Goons, a Chicagoan street artist. Much of it is based on actual photography – as he puts it, “This video features the band in a crazy, crazy world, zooming from place to place always revealing the bigger (or smaller) picture. For source images I drew the band in as I found them online and combined them with my own creations of fans to make a wild butterfly effect of interconnectedness to reflect how fast Twin Peaks’ music travels. In the end, we see that it has all come from one dude’s perspective. Maybe that is the spirit of the band: the older rocker dude looking back and enjoying the crazy ride.” Check it out below:
