NME Awards Shows With Austin, Texas: Hear The New Bands Playing Next February

Our annual month of gigs across the capital’s venues is once again confirmed to take place throughout next February. Alongside biggies like Suede, Mystery Jets, The Strypes and Swim Deep we’ve got some of the best new bands in the world on the bill – let us introduce them to you below.

VANT, The Lexington (February 2)

The London indie band are new on Parlophone Records.

Jordy Asher has produced and collaborated with Run The Jewels and Beyonce. Now he’s striking out on his own.

Together Pangea, Moth Club (February 5)

If you’re into Fidlar, Black Lips and Deap Vally, then these Cali punks should be right up your street.

Kid Wave, Oslo (February 7)

Heavenly Records have snapped up this lot.

Crows, The Black Heart (February 10)

Crows are part of the same scene as Wolf Alice, and one of the fiercest punk bands England has produced in ages. File alongside Eagulls and expect intensity.

The youthful Welsh fourpiece are one of the most hyped guitar bands to emerge from the UK this decade. Their debut album is due in 2016.

Declan McKenna, Barfly (February 15)

This Glastonbury-endorsed newcomer wrote the track above about corruption in football.

Spring King, 100 Club (February 16)

Manc act Spring King are led by in-demand producer Tarek Musa, and were the first band to be played on Beats 1 earlier this year.

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Electric Ballroom (February 18)

It’s prog-meets-punk for Australia’s most sprawling outfit.
