Tempesst Wield Guns And Burn Cash In The Thrilling Video For ‘Broke Down Blues’

London band Tempesst have revealed the video for new single ‘Broke Down Blues’. While previous visual efforts have been lo-fi affairs, they’ve opted to embrace a more cinematic style on their latest outing. Expect fast cars, sweeping desert shots and the odd firearm.

Samuel Watson takes centre stage as the character The Wildman, a loose-limbed and chaotic criminal whose endgame is to simply just burn his loot. The Joker from Batman would be proud. Despite previously having a stripped-back live video, the song ‘Broke Down Blues’ is grittier and sleeker than before, with the swaggering pace set by a galloping bassline.

But drummer and director Andy says that the video shoot almost landed in them in the slammer for a night. “We had the police called on us three times. Turns out our fake gun looked quite real. I guess someone saw Sam with a balaclava pacing into a petrol station, but somehow didn’t see me with a massive camera on my shoulder and reported it. Next thing we had three police cars fly in a surround us. It was insane but they saw pretty quickly that we were filming and they were super chill after that”.
