Watch Sunflower Bean Play Alternate Versions Of ‘Easier Said’ And ‘Space Exploration Disaster’

While bands do sessions all the time these days, Sunflower Bean’s recently published one for Seattle station KEXP is worth your time. Recorded in late March and uploaded yesterday (May 2), the four-song collection features a great version of their recent single ‘Easier Said’, as well as album closer ‘Space Exploration Disaster’.

While it doesn’t deviate from the recorded version massively, ‘Easier Said’ has a Peel Sessions vibe to it – raw and frenetic, but still pitch-perfect – while ‘Space Exploration Disaster’ is, for want of a better word, rocking. Both offer proof that Sunflower Bean are that rare thing in 2016: a guitar-based trio worth believing in.

The band have a fairly quiet May before a hefty US tour this summer. They’re due to head back to the UK this September, where they’ll play the following shows:

03 End of the Road Festival
05 Birmingham, Hare and Hounds
06 Newcastle, Think Tank
07 Glasgow, Broadcast
08 Leeds, Brudenell Social Club
09 Nottingham, Bodega
10 Manchester, Deaf Institute
13 Bristol, Thekla
14 Brighton, The Haunt
15 London, Scala
