You Need To Hear Manuka Honeys’ Swooning And Soul-Searching New Track ‘Below The Belt’

Recently, Brighton has given us the swaying guitar-pop of The Magic Gang, Abattoir Blues’ gravelly post-punk and the grunge riffs of Tigercub. But that’s not all the city has to offer up. Step forward Manuka Honeys, aka George Boorman, and latest track ‘Below The Belt’ (produced by The Magic Gang’s Kristian Smith). “What am I doing here when I could be with someone else?/Why do I do these things that just seem so below the belt?” Boorman asks mournfully over roughly hewn guitars, but though his searching bears elements of Elliott Smith it’s also full of swooning melodies to lose your heart to. Listen to the track in full below now.
