As The Walking Dead continues its eighth season run, fans are having a tough time figuring out where the show is going following last night’s [Sunday 25 March] episode.
The show, which first debuted in 2010, follows Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and a group of individuals fighting it out for survival following a zombie apocalypse.
The latest season has been receiving mixed reactions from fans following showrunner Scott Gimple’s decision to kill Carl Grimes – one of the shows leading characters – earlier in the season.
In the episode, titled ‘Do Not Send Us Astray’, a handful of characters where killed off following the Saviors attack on The Hilltop, thrusting Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and the community into survival mode.
In true Walking Dead fashion, fans didn’t get any resolution on Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Jadis’s (Pollyanna McIntosh) road trip that shocked audiences in the last episode; but instead witnessed Simon leading the Saviors to glory by tainting their weapons with walker guts – a new way of infecting people, apparently.
Check out some fan reactions to The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 13 below:
-No one heard a Walker fall down a flight of stairs?
-No lookouts after a major battle?
-That kid couldn't just shoot through the gate?

I couldn't agree more! Negan and the Saviors gotta go! I'm so bored with them now! Let's move on to something else already!

Anyone else actually feeling as annoyed as I am right now with this storyline?! Can’t even muster anxiety anymore. Constant stupidity. THIS tainted weapons with walker blood is nonsense. Does NOT jive with last 7 seasons! Need new writers. #TheWalkingDead

Great episode but question: when Rick lead the attack from the rear, why didn’t he slash tires as they came up thereby cutting off any escape opportunities for Simon?

I think tonight’s episode was great! The Hilltop and the Saviors both won in their own way. It was exciting and action-packed. I was glued to the screen ?. #thewalkingdead

In February, it was reported that Cohan was yet to reach an agreed new contract to return as Maggie in season 9 following dispute over her salary. Before signing onto ABC’s Whiskey Cavalier for its pilot episode, AMC had offered her a “modest salary increase in exchange for a long-term contract.” Cohan is reportedly seeking for a salary closer to her leading co-stars Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus.
“I would be surprised if Maggie Rhee wasn’t leading from the front as she always has done next season,” Lincoln told The Independent, “that is, of course, if she and Rick make it through the next four episodes.”
The Walking Dead airs Monday at 9pm on Fox
