Filipino adaptation of Korean film ‘A Moment to Remember’ to star Alden Richards and Bea Alonzo

The original film is a love story revolving around a woman with early-onset Alzheimer's disease

Alden Richards and Bea Alonzo will be starring in the Filipino adaptation of the 2004 Korean film A Moment to Remember.

According to a report by, Richards and Alonzo will play characters originally played by Jung Woo-Sung and Son Ye-Jin, respectively. Filming will reportedly start in January 2021.

Inspired by the 2001 Japanese drama series Pure SoulA Moment to Remember is a love story revolving around a woman with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.


The film won Best Adapted Screenplay at the 42nd Grand Bell Awards and Son Ye-Jin won Best Actress in a Foreign Film at the 15th China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival. Watch the original film’s trailer below:

The Filipino adaptation will be Richards and Alonzo’s first film together. In October, Alonzo said in a YouTube Q&A that she wanted to star in a movie with Richards after working with him on a commercial.

Richards is known for his roles in films like Hello, Love, Goodbye, where he starred alongside Kathryn Bernardo, and shows like The Gift. He was also one-half of the viral tandem “AlDub” with Maine Mendoza, which was formed in 2015 in the variety show Eat Bulaga!.

On the other hand, Alonzo has starred in movies like One More ChanceFour Sisters and a Wedding and Eerie. She also runs a YouTube channel which she started in June 2018.
