Creeper announce departure of drummer Dan Bratton

They are yet to confirm the reason for Bratton's departure

Creeper have announced the departure of drummer Dan Bratton.

In a statement posted on social media, the Southampton band wrote: “Creeper have parted ways with drummer Dan Bratton.”

The band gave no further information on the departure of Bratton, who had been the drummer since their inception in 2014.

Bratton performed on both of Creeper’s studio albums – 2017 debut ‘Eternity, In Your Arms’ and 2020’s ‘Sex, Death & The Infinite Void’ – as well as their 2014 self-titled EP, 2015’s The Callous Heart EP, and 2016’s The Stranger.

Last month, Creeper’s singer Will Gould shared a track-by-track video guide of their acclaimed new album, ‘Sex, Death & The Infinite Void with NME.

In a four-star review of the record, NME described it as “an ambitious and nuanced album”.

“Lyrically, the album follows a tale of doomed romance that ends in murder. Ostentatious narratives are nothing new for Creeper – they faked their own kidnapping in the build-up to 2017 debut ‘Eternity, In Your Arms’ – but amid the fantastical storyline, these lyrics are tinged with a very real sense of tragedy,” our review stated.

“…Turning their backs on their punk roots was a gamble, but it’s paid off. Next time around, expect Creeper to delve even deeper into the rabbit hole, to stare down the infinite void with even greater defiance.”
