Filipino rock band Eraserheads will be releasing a special edition photo book titled Alternate Endings: The Making of The Final Set and the Unmaking of an Era this month.
The photo book, written by Aldus Santos, designed by Gelo Lagasca and with a foreword by former vocalist Ely Buendia, will feature photos taken from Eraserheads’ reunion concert in 2009, which was dubbed The Final Set. [Editor’s Note: Aldus Santos is a contributor to NME Asia.]
The book will also be “chock-full of trivia” and include “insider accounts” as well as “hundreds of never before seen behind-the-scenes photos” from the show. It will be available exclusively on Offshore Music’s website from 10am on December 14.
The book is priced at PHP2,800. International shipping is available, as is shipping in and out of Metro Manila. Though the quantity is limited, Offshore Music says it “will restock if needed”.

Eraserheads have had other reunion shows since the 2009 concert, which drew thousands of fans to SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds in Pasay City. They performed in Singapore in 2013 and had another reunion show at Route 196 back in January 2016.
Formed in 1989, Eraserheads – consisting of Ely Buendia, Raymund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala and Marcus Adoro – were one of the most commercially successful Filipino bands in the ’90s.
Their debut album ‘Ultraelectromagneticpop!’ was released in 1993, which included hits like ‘Pare Ko’ and ‘Ligaya’. They released six other studio albums and four EPs until 2003.
Eraserheads won several local and international awards, including the 1997 MTV Video Music Awards’ Viewer’s Choice Award for Asia for the ‘Ang Huling El Bimbo’ music video.
In March 2002, the band confirmed that Buendia had left the band due to an undisclosed reason. Buendia went on to form bands like The Mongols, Pupil, The Oktaves and Apartel.
Marasigan is currently the vocalist of Sandwich and Pedicab. Zabala played bass for The Dawn and Hilera, and is now the bassist for pop-rock band Moonstar88. Meanwhile, Adoro started the band Markus Highway.
