Fariz Jabba, Mediocre Haircut Crew and THELIONCITYBOY to perform at Singapore’s Capitol Theatre

As part of the AL!VE concert series

A triple bill of local hip-hop is coming to Singapore’s Capitol Theatre this month: Fariz Jabba, Mediocre Haircut Crew and THELIONCITYBOY.

The January 30 concert, announced today (January 4) by promoters IMC Live Global, is the sixth show in the AL!VE concert series that kicks off January 21.

In accordance with the country’s Phase 3 coronavirus lockdown restrictions, the show will have an audience cap of 250 people. Tickets, which are priced at S$58, go on sale January 7 (pre-sale) and January 8 (public sale).

Def Jam Southeast Asia artist Fariz Jabba and THELIONCITYBOY have both released music recently. Last month, Fariz contributed ‘Dari Sini’ to the ‘One 65’ EP, while THELIONCITYBOY (real name Kevin Lester) dropped the song ‘Buang Suay’ featuring Malaysian artists Zamaera and Alan D.

On the other hand, Mediocre Haircut Crew – the trio of OmarKENOBI, MickeyLEANO and DaniKIDDO – dropped ‘MHC Mixtape’ last year. OmarKENOBI also collaborated with Fariz on the single ‘Kalah’.

Other artists booked for the AL!VE concert series – all held at Capitol Theatre – include veteran folk singer-songwriter Art Fazil, jazz muso Jeremy Monteiro and Mandopop artist Joi Chua.

February 5 will showcase artists from the contemporary Chinese language music scene such as Sherman Zhuo and Tien Chong. The sold-out show on February 6 will be headlined by Jimmy Ye, a veteran of the local Chinese genre xinyao.

More shows in the AL!VE concert series will be announced in the weeks to come, IMC Live said in a press release.
