Filipino indie rock trio 46 Hope St. have released their debut single, ‘Parisukat Sa Bilog’.
The track layers thick bass lines with simple, yet catchy drums, before vocalist Meds Rana joins the fray. Rana then introduces chunky guitar riffs into the song just as the track reaches its first chorus.
Further along in the track, keyboards are introduced, and the trio engage in a brief but captivating instrumental outro. Stream the song below.
46 Hope St. are signed to Widescope Entertainment. They were the first signing of Ebe Dancel, the former member of beloved Filipino rock band Sugarfree who has served as the label’s Artist & Repertoire (A&R) manager since last September.
Dancel took to Instagram on Friday, January 8, to promote the track, saying: “This is something we’ve been working on the past few months. Widescope Entertainment is proud to present its newest artist @46_hope_st,” before adding “I’m so happy for the band. They deserve this chance.”
Dancel revealed he had gotten to know of 46 Hope St. after a fan sent him a link of 46 Hope St.’s performances during “one of those sleepless nights when we were all in quarantine”, per BusinessMirror. “When I signed up as A&R of WE, they were the first group I called,” he said.
46 Hope St. first formed in 2016, and have been touring the local music circuit in the Philippines. Despite their five-year career, ‘Parisukat Sa Bilog’ is the band’s first official release. They’re expected to release more music soon, as the band shared multiple photos and updates of themselves in the studio late last year.
