It's the third time the Mandopop star's show has been pushed back

Mandopop star Jay Chou’s Kuala Lumpur concert on his Carnival World Tour has been postponed to early next year.

It’s the third time the Taiwanese star’s KL concert has been pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic. Earlier this week, promoter G.H.Y Culture & Media confirmed Chou’s show has been rescheduled to February 2022.

“In light of continued health and safety concerns, the Jay Chou Carnival World Tour – Kuala Lumpur that had been scheduled for 16 January 2021 will be rescheduled to 19 February, 2022 at Bukit Jalil National Stadium,” the organiser said in a Facebook post.


“We are looking forward to stage the show where fans can come together and enjoy the live experience safely again.”

G.H.Y Culture & Media encouraged fans to retain tickets bought previously through TicketCharge, as they will still be valid for the new show date.

According to the Malay Mail, the concert was initially scheduled for February 29 last year but was pushed to August due to the pandemic. It was then postponed to January.

The Carnival World Tour marks the award-winning singer’s eighth concert tour and celebrates the 20th anniversary of his musical career.


The singer last performed in Malaysia in January 2018, before returning to the country to produce the racing car flick Sky Fire, starring his wife Hannah Quinlivan.
