Preview Asiatic Records’ upcoming second compilation with groovy Kara Chenoa single, ‘Shoe’

The follow-up to ‘Asiatic.wav Vol. 1’ is on the way

Jakarta artist Kara Chenoa has released an upbeat new track, ‘Shoe’, which is the first taste of the second compilation by Asiatic Records, Warner Music’s recently established hip-hop imprint.

‘Shoe’, according to Chenoa per a press release, is a song “about being yourself under any circumstances, continuing to dance the way you want, no matter who sees it”. The track features production collective Vurplay, and comes full of funky guitars and groovy basslines.

“We talking ’bout the kind of groove that gon’ make your day / Oh make you sway / Oh move your shoes and dance away / Girl drop it on the gear and scoot / Don’t hit the breaks / Oh yeah the show stopper you,” the chorus goes.

Asiatic Records has yet to reveal further release information for the second compilation.

The imprint’s previous compilation, ‘Asiatic.wav Vol. 1’, included cuts from Ramengvrl, Mongolia’s Mrs. M, Japanese rapper OZworld, Thai-Trinidadian artist Tsunari, as well as Phum Viphurit and Thomas Ng. That compilation was released earlier this May.

Earlier in March, Chenoa dropped the track ‘Missus Superficial (Poison)’, which marked the rapper’s first release on Warner Music Indonesia. Last September, Chenoa also guested on Raisa’s single, ‘You Better Believe Me’.

The MC’s most recent release was the EP ‘Sunkissed*’, which he dropped last July.
