Stephanie Poetri has released a video for her new single, ‘Selfish’.
The Indonesian-American singer wears her longing on her sleeve on this new track. “I don’t wanna be selfish / But I am when it comes to you / I don’t wanna be desperate / But I am when I can’t have you,” she sings over gentle keys and handclaps.
In the music video for ‘Selfish’, Poetri notices the object of her affection at a party – and how he seems to be paying attention to someone else. Watch it below.
‘Selfish’ is the first single from Poetri’s upcoming debut EP ‘AM:PM’. It’s the latest in a series of one-off tracks – ‘Straight To You’, ‘Do You Love Me’ and ‘Touch’ – following her 2019 Avengers– and Iron Man-referencing viral hit ‘I Love You 3000’, which got a remix from Jackson Wang and clinched Poetri a deal with 88rising.
Poetri is expected to perform ‘Selfish’ during her set at the Double Happiness Winter Wonder Festival tomorrow (December 2). Also on the lineup of the free online festival are Chung Ha, Yuna, ATEEZ, CHAI and many more Asian and Asian American acts.
