‘Waiting for the End to Start’ comes seven years after the last Itchyworms album, ‘After All This Time’. The new record features nine new tracks, which were recorded by the members in isolation.

In an interview on CNN Philippines, the band shared more about the production process, which drummer Jazz Nicolas described as a “long-distance recording”, or as he put it, an “LDR”. Watch it below:

Singer and multi-instrumentalist Jugs Jugeta spoke with the news broadcaster about the album’s apocalyptic title, which encapsulates the band’s current state of mind.

“It’s a play on words. We’re waiting for the end of the pandemic, waiting for the end of all these problems, or maybe we’re waiting for the end of our lives,” he shrugged.

The band celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2016, and recently collaborated with creative brand Linya-Linya on a commemorative t-shirt.
