Malaysian rapper MC Syze has dropped a music video for his latest single ‘Selamba’ featuring Joe Flizzow.
‘Selamba’ (‘laid-back’) was co-written by Syze, Flizzow, Orumari and ALYPH. It will appear on the rapper’s upcoming album ‘Syze Does Matter’, and follows the songs ‘ATCL (A Thing Called Love)’ and ‘Jatuh’, which dropped earlier this year.
The ‘Selamba’ video, directed by ATG, premiered on YouTube on Friday (December 18), following the release of the song a week prior.

The 39-year-old rapper, real name Ashish Rajahser, said in a press conference that he hoped ‘Selamba’ would provide a dose of positivity in a year disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.
“As we all know, 2020 has been a very bad year for everyone and because I’ve been through my dark days, so let this be the time for me to share some light when it is already bad for everyone,” he told Malay Mail.
“So I kind of sum up this word to being laid back and calm but still focusing on the finish line, like whatever you need to achieve, you will achieve it but only with this ‘selamba’ vibe or being laid back and calm.”
In 2018, MC Syze released a remake of his 2008 debut single ‘Dancin” followed by new song ‘It Ain’t Over’ in 2019. Those singles marked his return to music after a decade-long break from the scene.
MC Syze has opened for Kanye West, Missy Elliott, The Roots, and other international artists during their concerts in Malaysia. The rapper is also known for his feature on R&B group VE’s song ‘Message Girl’ from their 2005 album ‘For You’.
