We The Fest announces 2020 Virtual Home Edition

The beloved Jakarta music festival goes online in the coronavirus pandemic

We The Fest has announced details of its free, online-only event for 2020.

The Indonesian festival, organized by Ismaya Live, will offer the same music-centred experience to festivalgoers on September 26 and 27. This time, it will be a free, non-ticketed event open to audiences in Indonesia and beyond.

Artist performances have yet to be revealed, but RSVPs are now open. To secure a spot, you’ll need to register at the festival’s official website.

Though the line-up is still being confirmed, Ismaya Live has opened it up to emerging local acts. The winners will earn the chance to perform on the festival’s virtual stream, along with additional prizes offered by partners DCODE and SAE Indonesia.

We The Fest has long been regarded as an annual festival highlight in Southeast Asia, attracting tens of thousands of fans to Central Jakarta. Among the acts who have performed at the festival include Lorde, Dua Lipa, SZA, The 1975, Kodaline, Charli XCX, Big Sean and Phoenix.

This year, the regular edition of We The Fest was scheduled to go on as planned before Ismaya announced its cancellation in June due to the coronavirus pandemic.
