The Walt Disney Company has announced that its popular streaming service Disney+ will launch in Singapore early next year.
The service is expected to arrive in Singapore on February 23, 2021, making it the first market globally to launch Disney+ with all six content brands: Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic, as well as its new international streaming brand Star.
With the launch, Disney+ is set to offer a selection of over 500 films and 15,000 episodes from the content brands in one place. The subscription rates range from SG$11.98 monthly to SG$119.98 per year.

Disney+ Singapore will be home to a growing selection of exclusive Disney+ Originals content and specials, including The Mandalorian, Marvel Studios’ WandaVision, Lady And The Tramp, the Toy Story spinoff Forky Asks A Question, as well as Hamilton and more.
Other blockbuster content in its library include the Marvel’s Avengers series and Black Panther, alongside live-adaptations of animated classics such as The Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty And The Beast and more.
With the addition of the Star brand, Disney+ Singapore subscribers will also have access to a wider range of content outside of its main franchises. Although specific titles have yet to be announced, Star will comprise shows and content from non-Disney branded production like 20th Television (How I Met Your Mother, Family Guy, 9-1-1) and ABC Signature (Black-ish, For Life, Scandal).
With the launch of Disney+ in Singapore, The Walk Disney Company APAC Emerging Markets Regional lead, Amit Malhotra, said that the company was taking “another momentous step in staying committed to our promise of delivering powerful stories with heart to consumers”.
“Streaming services have become an integral part of the daily lives for many consumers in Singapore, and we are dedicated to ensuring that Disney+ offers the best-in-class entertainment experiences for all audiences,” Malhotra added.
Disney+ offers subscribers high-quality and commercial-free viewing, and up to four concurrent streams, unlimited downloads of content on up to 10 devices, personalised recommendations, and the ability to set up seven different user profiles per account.
Parents will also have the ability to set Kids Profiles that will create an easy-to-navigate, child-friendly interface for access age-appropriate content.
Subscribers will also be able to stream Disney+ on a wide selection of mobile and connected TV devices, including gaming consoles, streaming media players, and smart TVs. Additionally, subscribers can also watch any content with family and friends virtually through the groupwatch feature.
