Gordi shares music video for ‘Unready’ from new album ‘Our Two Skins’

The singer has also been announced as Bon Iver's support act during their March tour

Sydney-based singer-songwriter Gordi – real name Sophie Payten – has shared the music video for her latest single, ‘Unready’. The track was released last week.

‘Unready’ is the fourth single lifted from Payten’s upcoming sophomore album, titled ‘Our Two Skins’. The record is slated for a June 26 release via Liberation. During the month of June, all proceeds from album sales on Bandcamp will be donated to the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA).

Alongside the video’s release, Gordi also announced she would be supporting Bon Iver on their Australian tour in March next year. The tour was initially scheduled for June, but was pushed back as international travel restrictions were put into place.

‘Unready’ follows singles ‘Sandwiches‘, ‘Aeroplane Bathroom‘ and ‘Volcano‘. ‘Our Two Skins’ will be the follow-up to Gordi’s 2017 debut album, ‘Reservoir’. It debuted in the Top 20 of the ARIA Albums Chart in 2017.

In April, Gordi revealed that she will be returning to her former profession in the medical sector while touring is on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. She had stepped away from her role as a junior doctor in January this year to promote and tour behind ‘Our Two Skins’.

In a March interview with NME Australia, she explained how the pandemic upended her touring plans as she was in Europe. “I was sitting anxiously in an Airbnb in London waiting to be told what to do – we had to cancel press and various commitments when I was in the midst of an album rollout,” she said.

“I spent a collective six hours on hold to airlines in 48 hours to try and get on the next plane home. It was a pretty traumatising experience. It cost me a few thousand dollars in plans being changed and cancelled.”
