2021 Sounds Better Together concert to be broadcast on TV

Featuring performances from The Teskey Brothers, Jimmy Barnes, Vika & Linda and more

2021 Sounds Better Together – the concert series collaboration between Mushroom Group and the Victorian Government – will have one of its concerts aired live on TV.

The Mallacoota performance will be broadcast on Nine from 7.30pm AEDT on Saturday January 30. Artists performing at the event include Jimmy Barnes, Tones And I, Missy Higgins, James Reyne, Daryl Braithwaite, The Teskey Brothers and Archie Roach, among others.

Mushroom Group founder and chairman Michael Gudinski said in a press release, “I’m thrilled that with this Nine broadcast everyone across Australia has an opportunity to experience the 2021 Sounds Better Together Shows, even if they can’t be at them in person.”

Nine program director Hamish Turner added, “Live music is such an important part of Australian culture.

“I hope by broadcasting… we can remind audiences of their love for live music and that we have hope for a better year for all ahead.”

Radio and television personality Jane Gazzo will join Nine host David Campbell and podcaster Kate Gudinski for behind-the-scenes viewing and artist interviews on the night.

The concert series – which is currently underway at various locations throughout Victoria – was established in an effort to revive the state’s live music industry following their months-long lockdown.

Upon its announcement earlier this month, as well as the above, organisers had earmarked the likes of Mia Wray, Vika & Linda, Gordi and more as part of the series lineup.
