The forthcoming Recharge livestream concert has announced a handful of new acts that will be performing at this weekend’s event.
Just added to the bill include Magic Dirt frontwoman Adalita, The Soultanas, Pete Denahy, Weeping Willows and more. These acts will perform on a ‘second stage’ called The Paddock, filmed and live-streamed from Castlemaine venue Theatre Royal.
Recharge was first announced last week with a lineup of Tones and I, Archie Roach, Missy Higgins and The Jezabels, among others. Taking place on Sunday May 17 from noon AEST, the concert aims to fundraise for income lost by musicians and Victorian businesses due to the coronavirus pandemic. Tickets to the event can be purchased through Oztix.
The event will be hosted by Henry Wagons and Myf Warhurst, who also regularly feature on the Delivered, Live digital series. Performances will feature full lighting setups and a main-stage PA system, and will be shot by a five-camera crew.
More than 100 wineries, bakeries, independent breweries, fruit and vegetable growers and producers will be available to purchase from as the event takes place, with home delivery fees covered by the Victorian Government.
In a statement, organisers Craig and Leigh Treweek said the event was a chance to give back to the musicians who frequently volunteer their services.
“The creative industries are always the first asked in times of crisis to support causes and have always come to the party, this crisis means it’s now time that they received support and recognition for their work,” they said.
