Adelaide’s Summer Sounds to kick off later this week with Allday, Towns on line-up

With the green light from state government authorities

Adelaide concert series Summer Sounds has confirmed it will be proceeding later this week with its first shows for the season.

Even though it has been given the green light from state government authorities, a number of lineup changes have been announced. Rapper Allday and pop-punk duo Towns will replace Jack River and Mercy, Merci for the January 8 show, while Tilly Tjala Thomas has been added to the January 9 session with Bernard Fanning and Something for Kate.

Other artists performing through the series include Mallrat, Ruel, Cub Sport, Lime Cordiale, Baker Boy, The Chats, Spacey Jane and Ball Park Music.

South Australia imposed a hard border to New South Wales arrivals from January 1 due to the multiple COVID-19 clusters throughout Sydney.

“Summer Sounds Festival’s organisers have worked closely with SA Health to ensure a safe series of events and most recently to work through issues created by the current border restrictions. This dialogue with SA Health will continue throughout the series,” a festival spokesperson said.

“While there will be a few changes to the lineup, the organisers are relieved to have received the green light to proceed with the series.”

Tickets are currently available for most Summer Sounds shows. The January 23 show with Hayden James, Cosmo’s Midnight and Running Touch has sold out, as has the January 29 gig with Ball Park Music and Spacey Jane.
