Roach’s show on February 19 will be his “final and only” Melbourne show promoting his 2019 album ‘Tell Me Why’, and is set to feature Paul Grabowsky and special guest Sally Dasty.
Every Monday night in February will feature a different double-headline performance at the titular Sidney Myer Music Bowl, as curated by venues The Old Bar, The Tote, Bar Oussou and The Evelyn. 30/70, Private Function, Sui Zhen, Close Counters, The Meanies, The Murlocs as well as the aforementioned Cash Savage will perform as part of the ‘Happy Mondays’ series.
Youth music organisation The Push have also worked with an underage committee to curate an all-ages event entitled New Slang. The February 20 show will see performances from Skeggs, Ruby Fields, King Stingray, and The Vovos in a drug, alcohol and smoke-free afternoon show.
Tickets to the second lineup of shows will go on sale from 12pm AEDT Thursday 21 January via the festival website. Read a full list of newly announced gigs below.
The new events join those previously announced by Sampa The Great, Missy Higgins, Lime Cordiale, Maddy Jane, Ocean Alley, Birds of Tokyo, Vika and Linda, Mo’Ju, The Avalanches and many more. More shows are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Per a press release, over 39,000 tickets have been sold for shows at Live at the Bowl.
“Live at the Bowl was just an idea back in September and to see it come to life with the Victorian Government’s support in such a rapid period of time is nothing short of remarkable,” Arts Centre Melbourne CEO Claire Spencer AM said.
