Boy Pablo shares two new songs and announces debut album ‘Wachito Rico’

'Hey Girl' and 'I Just Wanna Go Home' arrived earlier this week

Norwegian songwriter Boy Pablo has released a pair of new songs called ‘Hey Girl’ and ‘I Just Wanna Go Home’ and announced details of his debut album.

The two new tracks preview the upcoming debut full-length, which is called ‘Wachito Rico’ and comes out on October 23 via Norwegian label 777 Music.

Speaking of the new songs, Pablo says that they were both “made during a time I wrote a lot of music for a song project with a friend of mine, Judah Kubendran. I rearranged the tracks and rewrote the lyrics and melodies, and quickly realized that they were too good not to be released.

He continued: “The lyrics of ‘hey girl’ are written from the point of view of a young boy who is in love for the first time and wants to make a move on this girl. He’s nervous, shy and shaky, but dares to jump into it and talks to the girl.

‘I just wanna go home’ is about getting older and realising how much responsibility you are left with as an adult, and getting lost in the confusion that comes with trying to navigate the landscape of adulthood.”

Last month, Boy Pablo shared a cover of Arctic Monkeys song ‘Piledriver Waltz’ that he performed for the Verftet Online Music Festival.

The Norwegian internet sensation joined a lineup that included the likes of Aurora, Enslaved and Datarock.

Armed with an acoustic guitar and donning socks and sandals, Pablo offered up a cover of ‘Piledriver Waltz’, taken from Arctic Monkeys‘ 2011 album ‘Suck It And See’, which he performed in front of a green screen that displayed a family deer wandering in the snow.
