‘Shadow’ is one of the first tracks teased from ‘Map of the Soul:7’, which is set to arrive in February.
In the new clip, things take a desperate turn for Suga as he’s seen being chased through a hotel corridor by a group of masked men. He’s later seen performing the track to a crowd of excited BTS fans.
“I wanna be a rap star, I wanna be the top/ I wanna be a rockstar/ I want to be rich, I want to be the king/ I wanna go win… I got a big dream, I wondered everyday how far I’d go, I came to my senses and I find myself here,” Suga raps on the track.
In a darker section, he says: “I’m afraid, flying high is terrifying, no one told me/ How lonely it is up here, I can leap in the air but also plunge, now I know running away could be an option too.”
The trailer comes days after BTS announced new album ‘Map Of The Soul: 7’ and mapped out the four phases of their 2020 comeback.
The K-Pop outfit’s last full-length effort, ‘Face Yourself’, came in April 2018 and followed on from 2016’s ‘Youth’. Last spring, they dropped their sixth EP ‘Map of the Soul: Persona’.
Fans will be able to hear ‘Map Of The Soul: 7’ from 10am GMT on February 21.
