Recorded live in their home city of Brisbane, the new album is a track-by-track recording of the band’s 2020 LP.
Cub Sport first shared the performance on YouTube in August, but it’s gotten an official release on streaming services today (December 24).

“Bringing ‘Like Nirvana’ to life in the live setting feels like magic,” lead singer Tim Nelson said in a press release.
“This performance captures the connectedness, that ‘in the zone’ feeling that comes with performing live – I’m so excited for listeners to experience that feeling too.”
Cub Sport seem determined to finish the year in style, unveiling their own ‘Like Nirvana’ wine yesterday (December 23).
The wine is available for purchase now and is being billed as “fresh and zesty with a light fizz to cut through the summer heat”.

Upon its release in July, NME gave ‘Like Nirvana’ a five-star review.
“Stadium-sized glory might be painfully out of reach right now, for reasons beyond their control – but on ‘Like Nirvana’, Cub Sport make a compelling case for post-pandemic superstardom,” NME‘s Annabel Ross wrote.
‘Like Nirvana’ also made it to NME’s list of 25 best Australian albums of 2020.
