Great Gable have announced the release of their debut album ‘Tracing Faces’. To celebrate the announcement, they’ve also shared a new single titled ‘Blur’ and a band-directed music video. Watch the clip below:
The new song chronicles the band’s life on the road, according to a statement.
“Touring has its ups and downs. The constant travel can be exhausting but playing the shows makes it all worth it,” frontman Alex Whiteman said of ‘Blur’.
The Perth quartet shot the music video on a vintage “dad cam” in their rehearsal space in one day.
“Our manager set us a challenge to plan, record, and then edit a full music video within a typical work day of eight hours,” lead guitarist Matt Preen explained. “We did it in five. As you can see, we took it very seriously and are considering taking jobs in the film industry.”
The ten-track ‘Tracing Faces’ will feature ‘Blur’ and ‘All My Friends’, released back in February. The album was recorded at The Music Farm in Byron Bay with Matt Corby and Alex Heriksson on production duties. Bassist Chris Bye said “being engulfed in nature… influenced the [album]’s overall vibe”. Drummer Callum Guy added that Corby and Heriksson “helped to write better tunes and really inspired us”.
This week would have marked the beginning of the ‘All My Friends’ national tour for Great Gable, however, it was rescheduled to October and November this year with additional regional dates in Wollongong, Hobart, Torquay and Maroochydore. Special guests have yet to be announced.
‘Tracing Faces’ will be released on August 7 through ADA Worldwide. A full tracklist is below.
