Three years in the making, Illy’s new album ‘The Space Between’ is – according to the artist in a press release – about change.

“[How much] there is from one point to the next, and how those trips – not the destinations – define us,” Illy said.

“My music has always been about real life, and since last time we spoke, mine happened between albums, relationships, parties, therapy, triumphs, breakdowns, celebrations, mourning… all of it.”

Wrabel joins a host of other artists in guesting on the record, including G Flip and WAAX, who appear on ‘Loose Ends’ and ‘Cheap Seats’, respectively. Guy Sebastian features on ‘Lonely’ while Robinson guests on ‘Lean On Me’ and Carla Wehbe on ‘No Feelings’.

The album also houses some of Illy’s best-known tracks, including 2019 single ‘Then What’, ‘I Myself & Me’ and last year’s ARIA-nominated ‘Last Laugh’.

To celebrate the release of the album, Illy performed a sold-out hometown show in Melbourne last night (January 15).

Illy had originally planned to perform in Sydney also, but that date has been postponed to an as-yet-undisclosed time due to current coronavirus-related restrictions in the state.
