LANKS teams up with Yorke for new single ‘KING’

The track is lifted from part two of his double album ‘Spirits’

Australian-born, Brooklyn-based producer LANKS has teamed up with Byron Bay singer Yorke for their new single ‘KING’.

The collaborative track is a fresh cut from part two of LANKS’ ‘Spirits’ double album, set for release early next year.

Layered production and echoey vocals give a dark edge to ‘KING’, which gradually morphs into a dance track. Listen to it below:

Yorke, real name Grace Hughes, shared news of the pair’s collaboration on her social media last night (December 3), posting a photo of herself in the recording studio.

“somehow @lanksmusic and i don’t have a photo together but this is one he took on the day ‘King’ was born,” she wrote.

“Will is an incredible role model to have & I’ve looked up to him for quite some time. I was so grateful he featured on one of my own songs & now i’m even more chuffed he asked me to return the favour. This one is a real beauty.”

As mentioned in her post, this isn’t the first time Yorke and LANKS – AKA Will Cuming – have teamed up for a song. The pair joined forces earlier in the year for ‘Don’t Let The Lights Go Out’, from Yorke’s debut EP ‘Liberosis’.

LANKS released ‘Spirits Pt. 1’ earlier last month, featuring cuts ‘I’d Do It All Again’ with Lucy Sugerman, ‘Embrace’ with Brewer and the Alice Ivy-produced ‘Ghost’, featuring Sam Phay.

The second half, ‘Spirits Pt. 2’, is expected to arrive on February 19, 2021, via THAA Records.
