Sydney pop duo Cat & Calmell have made their return with their second ever single, ‘Dramatic’.
The follow-up to their debut single ‘Dumbshit’, ‘Dramatic’ takes a more understated turn than its predecessor with production from Hauskey, trading in soaring melodies for strutting basslines, akin to some of Billie Eilish‘s most famous work.
To match the ominous tone of the song, the duo have also dropped a music video that sees them defy the powers that be to plot an escape from some sort of asylum after being held against their will.

Of the song, the duo said in a press statement, “‘Dramatic’ is one of our favourites!
“We wrote this song as a way to express our frustration at the people in power and their complacency with the state of the world, it’s a cry of frustration from our generation to theirs and we hope it resonates and you think it’s a good jam!”
‘Dramatic’ marks the first single Cat & Calmell have dropped in 2021, following their debut in October last year. To round out last year, the duo also dropped a remix pack of ‘Dumbshit’, which saw acts like Mansionair and Loods put their spin on the track.
