Olympia has announced a series of limited-capacity, “Rare and Solo” shows in Melbourne and Sydney for January next year.
The singer-songwriter is set to play exclusive stripped-back previews of new material, as well as different renditions of tracks from her two albums ‘Self Talk’ and ‘Flamingo’.
Olympia has chosen smaller venues for the intimate performances, taking to the Vanguard in Sydney and the Gasometer Hotel in Melbourne. She’s set to do an early and late show in Melbourne on January 21, and just the one in Sydney on January 28.
Tickets to the limited events are on sale now via Moshtix. Special guests for the shows are set to be announced in the coming weeks.
Olympia’s second record ‘Flamingo’ was released in 2019, but she’s been busy in other ways during the pandemic. Last month, she played with Something For Kate for their performance of ‘Come Back Before I Come Back To My Senses’ on ABC’s The Sound.
The band recorded their rendition at the Norla Dome at the Mission to Seafarers in Melbourne, a space originally built as a gymnasium for seafarers in the 1920s.
Olympia also contributed backing vocals to ‘Bone Heavy’ from Blake Scott’s solo debut album ‘Niscitam’, released in October.
