Ruel has shared a new video for ‘say it over’, taken from the singer’s recently released ‘Bright Lights, Red Eyes’ EP.
Directed by Jeremy Koren (aka Grey Ghost), the stripped-down, black and white clip sees Ruel crooning while seated on a stool. It also features collaborator Cautious Clay, who appears, superimposed on the back of Ruel’s shirt, to deliver his feature verse.

‘Bright Lights, Red Eyes’ arrived back in October, with Ruel launching it last month with a live-streamed performance on the rooftop of the MCA in Circular Quay, Sydney, as part of NSW’s Great Southern Nights series.
In our interview with the NME cover star earlier this year, the homegrown artist discussed the fingerpicked guitar instrumental, written by collaborator Sarah Aarons, that closes out ‘say it over’.
“I just thought it was a beautiful way to end the song. It’s just so strange. You don’t really notice that it’s changing key, but then when it goes into the next song, it’s in a completely different realm.”
Earlier this month, Ruel was announced alongside Mallrat, Cub Sport and more, as part of new Adelaide concert series Summer Sounds.
