Sampa the Great has announced a series of special live shows – entitled ‘An Afro Future’ – set to take place across Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide next year.
The rapper will kick off the limited run in Sydney’s Domain as part of the Summer in the Domain series next February, before appearing in Adelaide as part of WOMADelaide 2021.
From there, Sampa will appear at a final performance at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl as part of the venue’s Live at the Bowl series. Full details are below.
According to a press release, Sampa will perform works from her latest album, 2019’s ‘The Return’.
Last month, Sampa took away three awards at the 2020 ARIAs, winning in the categories for Best Independent Release, Best Female Artist and Best Hip Hop Release. She also gave a performance of her album cut ‘Final Form’ live from Botswana.
Just last week, the Zambia-born and Botswana-raised artist cleaned up at the Music Victoria Awards, walking away with the prizes for Best Album for ‘The Return’, Best Song for ‘OMG’, Best Solo Artist and Best Soul, Funk, Gospel or RnB Album.

Sunday 8 – Adelaide, WOMADelaide
