Slowly Slowly have dropped a new cut today (December 9), the hypnotic and sensual ‘Comets & Zombies’.
According to the band, the new single marks a taste of what we can expect from the Melbourne outfit in 2021, following the release of their third studio album, ‘Race Car Blues’, back in February.
In a press release, Slowly Slowly frontman Ben Stewart explained the inspiration behind ‘Comets & Zombies’, saying it was loosely inspired by the tragic story of an acquaintance and his fiancé who passed away from drug addiction issues.
“Despite the self-destructive loop they found themselves in, I could see they maintained an unbreakable adoration for each other,” he said.
“I think there is something tragically beautiful about the love between people who are burdened with a self-destructive predisposition… It’s yet another song for the pile of ‘love conquers all’.”
