Spacey Jane share music video for ‘Straightfaced’

From their debut LP, 'Sunlight'

Spacey Jane have shared the music video for their track ‘Straightfaced’, lifted from their recently released debut album ‘Sunlight.’

Matt Sav directed the video, which solely features frontman Caleb Harper wandering aimlessly through various locations.

In a statement, the band explained they filmed the video “off the back of COVID-19 restrictions starting to ease off”.

“Caleb’s the only subject cause we wanted to keep the crew small and we think it really suits the song because of how personal it is!” they said.

“The whole concept kinda took from the opening lyric ‘I feel better tired which director Matt Sav thought was a funny thing that definitely isn’t true. Hence Caleb kinda wandering around aimlessly, stumbling about and not being all that functional.”

‘Straightfaced’ was released at the start of May in the lead-up to the arrival of ‘Sunlight.’ It served as the album’s fifth single overall. NME Australia gave the album four stars at the time of its release, praising it for its “festival-ready songs that embrace a freewheeling joy”.

“As huge as Spacey Jane sound on ‘Sunlight,’ it’s never at the expense of their heartfelt honesty,” it read.
