Tash Sultana has shared a live performance of an unreleased song ‘Into The Night’.
Sultana has released a number of recorded performances over the past few months, including live renditions of ‘Willow Tree’ and ‘Gemini’. These have often featured the artist playing multiple instruments including percussion, brass and keys, in addition to vocals.
This recording, however, features just Sultana and the piano. Watch it below:
Recently, the multi-instrumentalist performed at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion as part of the Great Southern Nights festival. It marked Sultana’s final loop show focused on their debut album, ‘Flow State’.
Sultana has also been announced for the 2021 WOMADelaide and Bluesfest lineups.
Sultana is gearing up to release their second studio album, ‘Terra Firma’, in February next year. The record will include the previously-released tracks ‘Willow Tree’, ‘Pretty Lady’, ‘Greed’ and ‘Beyond the Pine’.
‘Terra Firma’ will see Sultana move away from performing as a solo act and instead feature a full band on recordings.
“I haven’t shared the space with people for a long time… But with this album, I didn’t want to have any limitations, sonically. I realised, ‘Hang on, I can just sing this song. I don’t have to do the whole shebang’. So I went on a quest to find a band,” they told NME.
