TOWNS share fast, furious new single ‘Boring’

The Adelaide duo's latest packs a punch into its under two-minute runtime

TOWNS have shared latest single ‘Boring’, a frenetic shredder from the Adelaide pop-punk duo that clocks in under the two-minute mark.

The new track arrives alongside a hyperactive video, directed by the band’s own Daniel Steinert, full of vivid animations courtesy of Skye. Watch that below.

“This song came from me literally hitting my guitar out of frustration and boredom – luckily I was holding that opening note and it fell into place from there,” explains the band’s Aston Valladares.

“Lyrically, ‘Boring’ comes from a place of nostalgia, and a desire for a simpler time. I found it so strange how quickly I became bored as an adult because when I was a kid I found so many uninteresting things interesting. This left me with a desire of wanting to find that again with the way I live now.”

‘Boring’ is the second single TOWNS have released this year, following up ‘Stardust’ back in April. Both tracks follow a steady string of singles over the past couple of years from the band, which is comprised of Valladares on guitar and vocals and Steinert on drums.

They’ll launch the single with a sold-out hometown show in September, before appearing as part of next year’s Yours & Owls festival lineup next year alongside the likes of Tones and I, BENEE, DMA’S and Hockey Dad.
