Voting for triple j’s Hottest 100 of 2020 has opened

The list will be counted down on January 23

Fans can now cast their votes in triple j’s Hottest 100, with polls opening this morning (December 8).

Voters have until 3pm AEDT on January 18 to select up to ten songs for inclusion in the list.

triple j will then count down the 100 most popular songs of 2020 on Monday, January 23 from 12pm AEDT.

On January 24, the youth broadcaster will run through the 100 next most popular songs in the Hottest 200.

At time of writing, Sportsbet had Glass Animals as the favourite to claim the top spot in the countdown, paying $2.75. The British outfit released their third album, ‘Dreamland’, in August to critical and popular acclaim.

Lime Cordiale, Billie Eilish, Tame Impala, The Weeknd and Juice WLRD also loom as likely to feature at the pointy end of the list.

On its website, triple j has shared the Hottest 100 picks of a handful of artists, including Flume, Billie Eilish and Tash Sultana. The station has also revealed the songs for which its presenters have voted.

This year, triple j will team up with mental health charity, Lifeline, for the Hottest 100. The station has partnered with Lifeline to release a special edition T-shirt and will encourage listeners to donate throughout the countdown.

The station reports that more than 3.2 million people voted in the most recent Hottest 100, with 29% of all Australians aged 18-34 having their say.
