Courtney Barnett has shared a preview of ‘Where I’m Standing: Live from the Royal Exhibition Building’, her forthcoming global livestream show.
Barnett uploaded a rendition of ‘Sunday Roast’ today (December 7), which will feature in her stream on December 17.
Her performance was also included in The Sound’s most recent episode over the weekend. Watch it below:
Barnett originally released ‘Sunday Roast’ as a single from her 2018 album, ‘Tell Me How You Really Feel’. Earlier this year, she performed the track from isolation on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. It was her fifth appearance on the program.
Barnett’s forthcoming livestream will be her first with a full band since January. The ticketed show will screen at five different time slots on December 17, with each catered to specific global timezones.
Barnett’s set will air at 8pm AEDT/10pm NZDT for most Antipodean viewers and 8pm AWST/9pm JST & KST for viewers in Asia and on the West Coast of Australia.
The stream will commence at 8pm GMT/9pm CET for British and European fans, while two screenings for American viewers (one at 8pm ET and one at 8pm PT) have been organised.
“This performance takes place on stolen land and was filmed on the Country of the Boon Wurrung and Woi Wurrung (Wurundjeri) peoples of the eastern Kulin Nations,” Barnett said in the YouTube description of her recent video.
Barnett is yet to release any new music in 2020. However, she has shared a handful of notable covers, teaming up with Phoebe Bridgers for a rendition of ‘Everything Is Free’ by Gillian Welch and appearing on the recent Kev Carmody tribute album, ‘Cannot Buy My Soul’.
