Kimbra has taken to Instagram to share a new song ‘Save Me’, using archived footage of a performance filmed last year.
Filmed as part of Kimbra’s performance during New York City venue (Le) Poisson Rouge’s live-streamed concert series last year, the New Zealand-born artist described the song as “one of the most honest pieces” she’s ever written.
“Being on stage again during this tumultuous year was such a release and a deep way to share my joy, pain and longing,” she wrote on Instagram.
She later wrote that “..it was so freeing to sing it for this LPR Livestream Concert. Let’s hope the next time I sing this, we’ll all be in person again.”

Kimbra hasn’t released any solo music since she dropped her third studio album, ‘Primal Heart’, back in 2018.
In a review of the album, NME‘s Elizabeth Aubrey wrote that the “bold release is a war cry: Kimbra’s back, and she’s here to stay.”
Kimbra has shared via her Instagram bio – that she’s currently working on the follow up to ‘Primal Heart’, though no release date has been set yet.
Despite not releasing any music of her own, she recently appeared on Jacob Collier’s Grammy-nominated 2020 album ‘Djesse Vol. 3’, appearing alongside Tank and the Bangas on single ‘In My Bones’.
