Listen to Years & Years and Kylie Minogue join forces on ‘Starstruck’ remix

Olly Alexander said that the chance to collaborate with Kylie “is quite literally a dream come true"

Years & Years have released a new remix of their recent single ‘Starstruck’, featuring Kylie Minogue – you can hear the track below.

The original version of the single, the first to be released by Years & Years since they became the solo project of frontman Olly Alexander, came out last month.

Speaking about the new version of ‘Starstruck’ (which you can hear below), Alexander said that the chance to collaborate with Minogue on the remix “is quite literally a dream come true”.

“Kylie is an icon who has inspired me since I first started making music, so this feels out this world,” he said. “I asked if Kylie would be interested in doing something on the song and I’m so thankful she said yes!”

The artist added: “I’ve been on cloud nine ever since and she’s really brought so much to the song, her voice is divine and her presence is just magic. I really hope people enjoy this moment of cosmic fantasy, I’m over the moon, the stars and the planets that this has happened!”

Alexander recently starred in the official video for ‘Starstruck’, and described the track in a statement as being “about the rush you get when you’re with somebody you’re really into, it’s about holding onto a good feeling and not letting it go”.

“Like most of us I’ve spent the past year at home, and I wanted to create something super positive and fun for people (and myself) to bop along too,” he added. “Whatever we’re doing or wherever we are in life, I think we all deserve three minutes of interstellar ecstasy.”

The new Kylie collaboration follows on from Alexander’s performance as Years & Years with Elton John at the BRIT Awards last week. The two artists duetted on a cover of Pet Shop Boys‘ ‘It’s A Sin’.
