Editors perform powerful acoustic version of ‘Violence’ in the NME Basement

A highlight of their acclaimed new album ‘Violence‘, Editors swung by the NME Basement with a baby grand piano to perform a stripped back, acoustic but rousing rendition of the title track. Check it out in the video above.

Hailing the song in our review of the record for its power to “simmer with a caustic but expansive electro pulse”, their paired down run through of ‘Violence’ may not have the same mechanical drive, but instead it highlights the track’s very human yearning. Await this anthem blowing up at a festival near you this summer very soon.
